Behavioral Health Services Division

Vision
To provide leadership to communities statewide, to develop systems of behavioral health that improve the quality of life for all New Mexicans.

Mission
To promote and improve the health status of New Mexico through prevention of substance and addiction, and the delivery of behavioral health treatment services that are responsive to community needs and enable recovery and rehabilitation from acute and chronic behavioral health disorders.

Vision
New Mexico's health care facilities and community-based programs provide quality care and safe services, resulting in satisfied consumers.

Mission
The Division of Health Improvement assures safety and quality care in New Mexico's health care facilities and community-based programs in collaboration with consumers, providers, advocates and other agencies. DHI promotes continuous quality improvement through:
  • Conducting surveys and program reviews and taking appropriate actions;
  • The identification of trends and patterns, and;
  • The provision of technical assistance and training.
